A football festival of the extra class

Autodesk Football World Cup takes place at the Sportschule Oberhaching!

On Saturday, Autodesk’s in-house Football World Cup took place at the Sportschule Oberhaching. Once a year, the employees meet for a get-together and team building event – and after 20 years, Munich was chosen as the venue again. Around 1,200 employees from all over the world came to our facility to play football together and, above all, to have fun.

The spacious grounds of the Sportschule offered the ideal setting for this spectacular event. Our five (artificial) grass pitches were divided into twelve small pitches especially for the tournament to create space for a total of 60 teams. The youngest participants were also able to demonstrate their footballing talent on the soccer court, while bouncy castles were set up on the tartan pitches to delight the littlest fans.

The tournament was characterized by exciting games from start to finish. The teams gave their best in over 160 games. The result was over 430 goals scored, reflecting the enthusiasm and great atmosphere on and off the pitch.

But the Football World Cup not only offered highlights on the field. A cozy beer garden was set up throughout the day, which spoiled the players with culinary delights. In addition to refreshing bowls, fruit and small snacks, the grill was also fired up at lunchtime to make a delicious barbecue possible. Of course, suitable alternatives were also offered for vegetarians and vegans. And to brave the heat of the day, an ice cream truck provided additional refreshment.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the finals. In the women’s competition, the “Bolts” team defeated the strong “Denver Dream Ladies” with a 1:0 score and thus secured the well-deserved victory. In the men’s/mixed tournament, the “Barcelona 1” team triumphed with an impressive 3:1 victory over the fighting “Dublin Celts”.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Autodesk for choosing us as the venue. It was a pleasure for us to host this mega event and to support Autodesk employees with their team building event.
